just for today things are looking up
Just for today, my son is employed.
Just for today, he is seeking sober friends.
Just for today, he is paying rent.
Just for today, he is taking showers.
Just for today, he is clean.
Just for today, I am working on me.
Happy Halloween.

In Response to: just for today things are looking up Well, that's good. "Enjoy the little things in life. For one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." Posted: 10/31/2014 10:20 PM Received 2 Thanks for this Post |

In Response to: just for today things are looking up Patrizia's Mom, your post reminded me of the "mosquito in a tent". Indeed the little things often turn out to be the big things, good and bad. This is such a difficult journey, loving an addict. But I will say that it opens my eyes to the everyday miracles that so many take for granted. I hope you are approaching the holidays with sweet memories of your precious daughter. You remain in my thoughts and prayers along with all my friends at this site. Much love, Paula. In Response to: just for today things are looking up Thank you, Paula. November 4th is 9 months since she is gone. At times it just seems unreal. I plan to get in more volunteer work during the holidays, which as everyone knows, can be tough. Posted: 11/03/2014 1:17 PM Received 3 Thanks for this Post |

In Response to: just for today things are looking up Happy Halloween palmtw! Thank you for the post! When you are an addict or you love an addict, it can be easy to let the "little things" slip by without celebrating them. We sometimes forget how much we are accomplishing daily just by being sober and trying to stay that way. God Bless You, Big Ron Posted: 11/11/2014 10:18 PM Received 2 Thanks for this Post |
