Community guidelines

A safer community begins with how we treat one another.

These standards apply to posts, replies, profiles, and private messages.

Lead with compassion

Respond to the person, not just the problem. Disagreement is allowed; humiliation, threats, and personal attacks are not.

Protect privacy

Do not post addresses, phone numbers, private messages, medical records, court details, or identifying information about another person.

No dangerous or illegal guidance

Do not help people obtain drugs, hide criminal activity, misuse medication, or attempt unsafe detoxification.

Share experience honestly

Speak from your own experience. Do not present yourself as a medical professional unless staff has verified the credential.

How moderation works

  1. New members’ first posts are reviewed before appearing publicly.
  2. Any member can report content privately to moderators.
  3. Moderators may remove content, contact a member privately, or restrict an account when safety requires it.
  4. Immediate threats and emergencies should be directed to 911 or 988—not handled only through the community.
