I'm a happily married wife, a mom to a 26-year-old son, and a precious little grandson named Joshua who entered this world on 2/13/08.
Ryan was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of 14 and was in and out of the hospital. About 1.5 years ago, he entered the hospital for a crohn's flareup and was given oxycontin for pain. He exited the hospital as an addict. We put him thru detox with saboxane and thought he was fully recovered. My husband and I returned from vacation in July 2010 to find out from his wife that his addiction had escalated to the point where he was not only visiting a methadone clinic daily but he had turned to selling oxycontin in order to finance his iv-drug habit which explains his constant need for money. This has been devastating to our once-happy family. In the meantime, my husband and I are barely holding ourselves together long enough to get thru each workday. When will we wake up from this nightmare?
