About Me

Hello my name is Chris and I’m a 25 year old recovering alcoholic/addict. I have tested out plenty of drugs and lived in that world for some time. However, my main choice of drug was alcohol and benzodiazepines such as xanax. The benzodiazepines were prescribed to me for anxiety and I drank alcohol for various reasons mainly because I’m an ALCOHOLIC. I have the disease of addiction. My main choice was alcohol, vodka until it runs out and then it’s just about anything after the insanity of the first drink. After many failed attempts at sobriety I became sober October 2009, and strung together the most months I ever had in my life until in late June I relapsed at friend’s bachelor party and went in a tail spin for a week. . I attend AA meetings weekly and read the big book because this has worked for me. I found this website randomly through google because the websites great founder Matt made sure it was available. I’ve been through detox several times my first time at around 18-19 years old and didn’t take it seriously till I was about 23. Done a lot I’m not proud of but if I live in the past I think I’ll die in the past. I am just trying to tackle my demons and remain sober and live a purposeful life which I am doing now. My main focus at this point is serenity and to keep conquering goals I couldn’t do while I was using.
