False positive-opiate test
Hi sad dads wife again..recently my son was tested positive for opiates at his sober house, was kicked out immediately. He swears on his grandmas grave he did not use. He has been on leviquin an antboiotic for bronchitis which can give a false positive for opiates. He was tested again at the er where his sober house sent him.. Still testing positive he asked for an extended test ..which tests further for codeine, hydrocodone, hydromorphome, oxycodone and morphine..which were all negative. Morphine is herion so why was it negative? Any lab techs out there to confirm ? I have the results and are all negative ..spoke with the doctor that say yes it's negative.though the sober home does not care still
thinks he's dirty. Has anyone been in this situation.? I want to believe he didn't use and do!!

In Response to: False positive-opiate test I would ask the sober house if there were any conditions under which they would take your son back or did they know of any who would give him a chance. ...............I had an aquaintance who smoked pot (a lot of pot) and she was involved in an accident at work. Their policy is to drug test any employee after an accident and if they are positive for drugs, company insurance is not responsible for paying for injuries AND they lose their job. She played the innocent and said her husband was the pot smoker and she asked for the extended tests, hoping to drag it out long enough so that the pot would not show up in her system. It didn't work and she was fired.
