About Me

I am an older lady who has worked as a ward secretary in an inpatient  chemical dependency and  psychiatric treatment center and saw a lot of encouraging and discouraging things happen.  In my personal life, I have had longterm relationships with alcohol and marijuana addicts, even though I knew better from working at the treatment center.

I was a smoker for 35 years and now have pancreatic cancer which is a direct result.  I haven't smoked for 10 years now.  I used to pull my hair out until medicine was discovered to help this.  It was an obsessive-compulsive problem, but it felt like an addiction.  I sometimes did not even realize I was doing this, and you can imagine that it affected my life greatly.   Overeating has occasionally been a problem for me, also.
